Lady Cougars Back on the Winning Track!

Our JV & Varsity Lady Cougars made quick work of the Chilton Pirates Friday afternoon. The Pirates put up a valiant fight but were no match for our 11-3 Lady Cougars. The stage is now set for a final showdown in Bosqueville next Tuesday afternoon for second place in district. Great job Lady Coogs!

Cougars Are District Champions!! (see attachment)

After a long and busy Cross Country season, the RLISD Cougars did extremely well in today's district meet. On the boys side, our Varsity took the championship by winning 1st, 3rd, 4th, 7th, and 9th places. They will now progress to the Regional Meet in Huntsville in a few weeks. Our Junior Varsity Boys took the Championship by having individuals place 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 9th, 12th, and 13th overall. You can truly "try to" sing, "We are the Champions" now!! Great job guys. On the girls side, the young Lady Cougars team worked hard and did well but only Keaunna Whitfield will move on to Regionals by taking 2nd place overall. Go Cougars!!!

Cougar Pride Abounds!!

Our Lady Cougars (10-2) played the district leading Moody Bearcats (12-0) last night in Moody. Until this match, the Bearcats were undefeated in district play and had only lost one set to any team in district. When our Cougars played Moody in our gym, we fought hard but lost three straight sets. Last night, our Lady Cougars defeated the Bearcats in 2 of the first 4 sets. In the final tie-breaking set, our ladies fought hard but lost by two points, 13-15. Great job ladies!! They play here at home on Friday against Chilton. Their last district game before playoffs will be next Tuesday afternoon against the Bosqueville Bulldogs.
