10 Cougars Are All-District Academians

In addition to being great on the field, 10 of our 2017-2018 Cougar Football team also excelled in the classroom. They are Brady Hering, Cody Wells, Graham Kahlig, Haven Mortimer, JaQuorian Johnson, Jared Hudson, Reese Sims, Tanner Martin, Trey Walker, and Ty Stock. Way to go Coogs!

Cougar Football Team Rakes in the All-District Honors

The 2017-2018 Cougar Football Team which went 6-4 during the regular season claimed 16 slots on the 13-2A All-District squad. This included the district MVP on the offensive side along with two first teamers on the defensive side. They are joined by five second team All-Districts and eight All-District Honorable Mentions. Lady Coogs Take Florence by Storm

Our Lady Cougars traveled down to Florence to compete in the Buffaloes Basketball Tournament. The Cougars accumulated a 5-0 record in the three-day tournament and brought the championship home. Way to go Lady Coogs! We are proud of you!!

Varsity Boys Play in Academy Tournament

Our Varsity Boys Basketball team played in Academy this past Thursday through Saturday. They compiled a 3-2 record and took fourth place in the tournament with mostly 3A, and 4A schools. Jaquorian was named to the All-Tournament Team. Good job men!

Freshman & JV Play in Marlin Tournament

Our Freshman and JV Basketball teams played in the Marlin JV Tournament this Friday and Saturday. Each team won several games but with no brackets for ranking. They did play each other one game and the JV maintained bragging rights by 3 points. Good job Cougars!

Jaquorian is Ford Tough

Jaquorian Johnson has been named the "Built Ford Tough Texas High School Player of the Week"! This is icing on the cake as Jaquorian has led our Cougars on offense and defense to a greatly improved 6-4 record and a spot in the playoffs. Congratulations Jaquorian! We are proud of you!!

In order to get as many folks as possible going out to support our Cougars on Thursday night, RLISD will be running a fan bus over to Marble Falls. There is no charge to ride the bus but all students must be accompanied by an adult. All adults must submit to a background check before being permitted to board the bus. Entry fee at the gate is $5 for adults and $3 for students. There must be 20 going to take the bus and we will have a cutoff at 50. Go Cougars!

Our RLISD Cougars defeated the Normangee Panthers on Friday night in Normangee. It was a high scoring nail-biter but our Coogs stayed the course, never quit, and walked away victorious, 43-40. This gives our Cougars an overall record of 6-4 & 2-3 in district. They will play the first round of the playoffs on Thursday night against the Mason Punchers in Marble Falls. Way to go Cougars!

Cougars Play Normangee

Our RLISD Cougar football team have a huge game Friday night in Normangee. If our boys win, they will finish 6-4 on the season and stand a great chance of finishing third in the district. I know it is a long drive but I hope to see a huge crowd cheering our young men on to the playoffs!

ASVAB Given on Tuesday, November 7 @ 8:00 a.m.

The ASVAB or Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery will be given to all Juniors and Seniors next Tuesday, November 7. The purpose of this test is to identify the strengths of every student and possibly guide them down the appropriate career path that fits their skills. The test will be administered in the Theater beginning at 8:00.
